The poetry of stillness, the beauty of renewal

MIRA GALLERY · ARTIST’S JOURNAL · OCTOBER 2026

A new exhibition by Mira Corbova, bringing together poetic paintings and quiet sculptural works exploring light, emotion, stillness and renewal, presented by private appointment at MIRA Gallery.

My Wellness Whispers collection began in 2025, evolving through an ongoing exploration of colour, texture, light and poetry. It has since expanded beyond the canvas with the introduction of my Quiet Vessels — a series of sculptural objects that continue my enquiry into the relationship between material, form and emotion.

Now, I am delighted to share this expanded collection through the MIRA Gallery Spring Exhibition, bringing together my poetic paintings and these new sculptural works in a presentation that reflects the evolving nature of my practice. View works here.

For me, Wellness Whispers is an exploration of the subtle ways art can evoke emotion, invite reflection and create a sense of connection. Each work possesses its own character, yet together they form a contemplative world shaped by colour, material and light.

The language of a painting

My paintings develop through an intuitive process of layering, allowing colour and texture to evolve gradually. Rich surfaces, delicate transitions and luminous golden details create depth and movement, revealing different qualities as the light changes.

I am drawn to the moments when a painting begins to communicate beyond its physical form. A particular colour may awaken a feeling, a movement may suggest an unexpected association, or a delicate detail may hold our attention without offering an immediate explanation.

Rather than defining what a work should mean, I want to leave room for each person to discover their own connection with it. For me, the experience of looking is just as important as the image itself.

Where painting meets poetry

Words have always been an important part of my artistic expression. Each painting in Wellness Whispers is accompanied by my original poetry, offering another dimension to the experience of the work.

The poem is not intended to explain the painting or prescribe how it should be understood. Instead, the two exist alongside one another, each with its own voice. Sometimes the words deepen a feeling already present in the image; at other times, they open a different perspective.

Together, painting and poetry create an invitation to look, read and reflect. The relationship between them remains open, allowing personal memories, emotions and interpretations to become part of the experience.

Quiet Vessels: pools of emotion

The introduction of Quiet Vessels marks a new chapter in the development of Wellness Whispers.

I think of these works as pools of emotion. Each vessel develops its own visual language, revealing subtle details and unexpected imagery as the work takes shape. These discoveries are among the most rewarding aspects of my practice: moments when a form seems to reveal something beyond what I had initially imagined.

Created this month, Dreaming, the pink vessel, offered one such moment. Within its flowing form, I discovered the image of a little girl reaching towards the sky, a star held aloft. Nearby, a delicate, heart-shaped fissure emerged within the surface. I chose to accentuate this detail with 24k gold leaf, allowing the golden line to bring a quiet luminosity to the composition.

The image evokes a sense of innocence, wonder and possibility — a fleeting encounter between imagination and material. It reminded me how meaning can emerge intuitively through the creative process, sometimes revealing itself only when we pause to look more closely.

Renewal followed, in a green hue I find particularly compelling for its earthy depth and understated elegance. Fine gold pigment and gold leaf introduce a delicate interplay of light across the surface, bringing warmth and luminosity to the richness of the green. The result feels both grounded and luminous, balancing the organic character of its colour with the refined presence of gold.

It is difficult to choose a favourite. Each vessel possesses a distinct character, shaped by its own combination of colour, form and detail. Dreaming speaks to me of imagination, innocence and hope, while Renewal suggests growth, transformation and the possibility of beginning anew.

Together, the Quiet Vessels extend the spirit of Wellness Whispers into three-dimensional form. They are conceived not simply as functional objects, but as intimate sculptural works — small contemplative worlds in which material, light and emotion meet.

Perhaps their greatest beauty lies in the space they leave for personal interpretation. The images and associations I discover while creating them are only one part of their story. I hope others will find their own meanings within these forms, allowing each vessel to become a quiet reflection of something personal, unexpected and entirely their own.

An invitation to experience

Spring offers a fitting moment to share this expanded collection. It is a season associated with fresh perspectives and renewal, inviting us to look again at our surroundings and the spaces we create for ourselves.

Through the Wellness Whispers — Spring Exhibition, I invite you to spend time with the paintings, discover their accompanying poetry and explore the Quiet Vessels. You may be drawn to a particular colour, a luminous detail, a line of poetry or the quiet presence of a sculptural form.

There is no single way to experience art. A connection may be immediate, or it may unfold gradually through looking. This openness is something I value deeply in my practice: the possibility that a work may hold different meanings for different people, each shaped by their own experiences and sensibilities.

I am delighted to bring these works together and share this next chapter of my artistic journey with you. Thank you for following my work and for allowing art to become part of your own world.
