ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mira Corbova — Contemporary Poetic Abstraction
Mira Corbova is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice explores colour, light, emotion and the space between what is seen and what is felt.
Working primarily in layered oil painting and object-based works, Mira creates luminous, atmospheric compositions shaped by intuition, memory and perception. A signature element of her practice is the use of iridescent gold pigment, creating a shifting luminosity that changes with the surrounding light.
Poetry is integral to Mira’s creative practice. Her paintings are often accompanied by original poems, creating a dialogue between visual and written expression and offering another layer through which the work can be experienced.
Mira’s artistic journey began in childhood and was internationally recognised at the age of eleven at the International Art Show in Tokyo. Her practice has since developed across Slovakia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
Her work is held in private collections internationally, and she has exhibited across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
THE PRACTICE
Mira’s practice is rooted in the belief that art is a language of emotional connection.
Her paintings are layered, luminous and intuitive, often shifting with light, orientation and proximity. Rather than offering a fixed meaning, they invite personal interpretation and ongoing engagement.
Through colour, texture, light and subtle movement, Mira explores how painting and object can quietly shape the emotional atmosphere of a space.

Poetry forms an integral part of my creative process, offering a glimpse into the emotional heartbeat and inner narrative of the work.

CURRENT WORK
Embers of Love · 2026-27
Mira is currently developing Embers of Love, an evolving series of abstract oil paintings accompanied by original poetry and small object works.
The series explores love, connection and memory through colour, light and layered surface. The works consider how tenderness, intensity and traces of experience can remain present without becoming literal.
Each painting is accompanied by an original poem, creating a dialogue between visual and written expression.
The collection will culminate in a book of art and poetry, planned for release in conjunction with the exhibition in 2027.
