Emerging Voices, Expanding Whispers ♡
October brings a soft, warming light, and I find myself falling in love with warm Indian yellows and the bright new hues of pinks and turquoise entering my palette. Across Australia, spring is unfolding — a season of renewal, growth, and quiet possibility. It feels like a time that invites us to notice subtler shifts - not only in the beauty of nature that inspires us, but also in the quieter voices in art that are beginning to rise.
Sydney Contemporary Inspiration
Last month, I visited Sydney Contemporary, and the energy of that experience still lingers. The fair radiated colour, scale, and individuality. Rather than competing, works stood in confident dialogue — each carrying its own presence. It was a reminder of why expressive abstraction continues to expand its reach and why large-scale canvases hold such transformative power.
I left with a renewed sense of possibility, and with a smile at the thought of my own larger works calling me back. Do you remember my large-scale sunshine painting, with luminous yellow and gold? Collectors often admired her, but I could never part with her. She remains with me, a radiant companion who uplifts my days and makes my husband smile. Her energy is unspeakable yet always felt.
Emerging Voices in the Art World
At Mira Corbova Art Gallery, we feel deeply connected to this shift. Collectors and curators are moving beyond familiar names, searching for works that carry authenticity, intimacy, and presence. Today, emerging voices are being heard not through hype but through resonance.
My first guest artist, Alyson Hayes, introduced luminous ceramic forms that cast both light and shadow. When light was placed beneath one of my paintings, colours danced in dialogue with her sculptures. How beautiful it is when painting and object whisper together — creating a shared atmosphere of magic.
Wellness Whispers (2025)
Within this unfolding dialogue, my new collection Wellness Whispers is beginning to take form. The first six works are now released and live on the website. Two new 102 × 102 cm canvases sit in my studio, quietly urging me forward. Golden Passage, I’m currently working on with its accompanying poem, feels like a threshold — so I share a detail of this piece here alongside this reflection.
The square canvas offers a liberating space for my brush, yet I feel the pull towards even larger formats. These paintings feel like companions: layers of colour and my signature gold hue asking me to listen more deeply. Some days, I long to stretch into one monumental canvas, a work that could hold and release everything at once. Perhaps the next collection, Ember of Love (planned for January), will carry that vision.
Focus and Collaboration
This month, my focus is on Wellness Whispers and the seasons ahead. Invitations to exhibit internationally are also arriving — humbling, exciting, and full of possibility.
Alongside this, I am shaping ideas for an Art and Emotion Collective: a collaborative space for artists and galleries — both emerging and established — who share a commitment to authenticity, storytelling, and soulful presence. If this vision resonates, I warmly invite conversations around collaboration as we look towards the future.
Painting and Poetry
Every painting in Wellness Whispers is paired with a poem — not to explain, but to extend the work into language. Together, they form a dialogue of resilience, renewal, and quiet healing.
I see this collection as my own voice within the global chorus: expressive without being loud, personal yet universal, intimate yet expansive.
A Gathering of Voices
As spring unfolds, I sense the art world shifting from marketplace to gathering — a meeting place where voices, both known and new, come into harmony. Large abstract canvases, quietly crafted objects, luminous installations of light and colour— all can coexist, provided they carry truth. What matters is not the volume of the voice, but the sincerity with which it speaks.
I hope that when you encounter my new art collection, Wellness Whispers, you not only see the paintings or read the poems, but also feel their resonance. Perhaps they invite you to pause, breathe, and discover a glimpse of your own story in a meditative moment.
I believe that art is not just visual but also spiritual and leads us inward — and the discoveries can be surprising, even transformative.
If you live with one of my works, I would love to hear how it has touched you. If you are visiting for the first time, may you feel warmly invited into this ongoing conversation.
With light and colour,
