From the artist:
Childhoods is a contemporary abstract landscape inspired by the region of Champagne in France, where I grew up. Created using a blend of natural French and Gumbaynggirr pigments, this work symbolically connects my own childhood with that of my children, who are growing up on Gumbaynggirr Country in Australia. As a French-Australian artist working with natural materials and mixed media techniques, I explore themes of identity, migration, and belonging. This piece pays tribute to migrants and multicultural families navigating the beauty of a new life in Australia while holding a deep emotional connection to their homeland. Through vibrant earth tones and a horizon of memory, Childhoods evokes the layered experience of growing up between cultures, languages, and landscapes.
